Pluto’s in Capricorn – What’s Up for 2009?

Pluto, a very slow moving planet, recently made its permanent re-entry into Capricorn on November 27 th, 2008 . After a brief entry into Capricorn early in 2008 and backtracking into Sagittarius, Pluto enters Capricorn to stay. It will remain in the sign of Capricorn until 2024. Prior to that, Pluto reigned in Sagittarius since 1996.

The sign change from Sagittarius to Capricorn signals major events that will take place in the consciousness of humanity. Pluto is the planet of major upheaval and transformation. Pluto in Capricorn rules our government, our political and economic structures and the rules and laws governing our society. It represents big business, corporations, politics, ecology, health care, the economy, housing, the real estate market, foreclosures and banking institutions.

All religions and forms of higher “truths” are ruled by Sagittarius. The last 13 years of Pluto in Sagittarius spawned a time of religious and philosophical turmoil and conflict. Pluto in Sagittarius was a time of exposing radical change in these areas, releasing old limiting beliefs and judgments on all levels , and reevaluating our spiritual connection to ourselves and the world.

Pluto in Sag is also the youthful adventurer – it says, “how can I get ahead quickly without working too hard? ” That was pretty much the motto for many greedy financial institutions and corporations during this time. The avarice of more and more (Pluto in Sag) held up for years until Pluto went into the last critical degree of Sag. Then we could no longer ignore the cracks in the ethical and moral fiber of many of our long established institutions.

Interestingly, the financial collapse in our country occurred to the month and year in which the Mayan calendar prophecies predicted this would occur, November 2008. Coincidental? I hardly think so. Mayan prophecy refers to the time when greed and corruption would become so out of balance with core integrity and ethical practices that the United States financial and governmental structures will come collapsing down like a house of cards.So now we find our country in a financial meltdown.

Pluto in Capricorn is currently shaking down the walls of our collective mind set regarding how our emotional, physical and financial security is structured. Everything is crumbling, the sky is falling! A layer of fear pervades through out the country…. fear, fear, fear, on the news, in the papers, in the grocery store, everywhere is doom and gloom. Our reality paradigm has been shaken to the core. We are re-evaluating our belief system that taught us that our emotional and financial security come from outside sources.

The Jupiterian Pluto in Sagittarius era of “eat, drink and be merry” is now over. Our excessive, self indulgent lifestyles need to be curbed. We can no longer rely on our jobs, financial institution s or government to take care of us. The infallibility and instability of the banking system are now exposed and need major restructuring. We are no longer able to binge (Pluto in Sag) but we must now be accountable and responsible for our actions.

Pluto is in Capricorn and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, yes, the old taskmaster! It tells us that our power to transform our lives – be it job, family, finances or economy, lies within ourselves. It is our personal responsibility (Saturn) to seek our inner power and truth and not depend on outside structures or establishments to do this for us. Pluto in Capricorn is showing us the reality of how broken and crumbling our systems (Saturn) are. We are now beginning to see the breakdown of old authorities and structures that no longer hold any value.

Opportunity for change

Pluto tears down, causes massive upheaval and then totally restructures and rebuilds something even greater for the good of all. So, look for 2009 to be a year of radical breakdowns and breakthroughs.

What good can come out of all of this? Well, for one thing we are being pushed into finding our spiritual path! We will have to find the God source within us and our inner spiritual strength and wisdom to guide us through these times and re-identify who we are. Our true source of happiness and prosperity lies within us, in our inner world, not our outer world. In the end we alone are responsible for our own lives and well being.

Pluto will remain in Capricorn through 2024. This will precipitate a time of deep cleansing and purification of all government structures and corporations that no longer base their existence on greed, corruption and fabrications. There will be checks and balances – Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Saturn is the planet that takes you to task and keeps you in line, like the old school teacher walking down the aisle checking to make sure you are not cheating on your exam. Only that which is built upon integrity will remain viable and flourish.

The selfish egos and agendas of those still struggling to maintain power and control are crumbling. Their hidden manipulations may try to control us, instill fear, and squeeze the life force out of us, but in spite of their dark agenda, good will arise from this oppressive situation. The light must balance the dark. Their plans are no longer working.

As mentioned earlier, Saturn rules Capricorn and this rules our government, our political and economic structures and the rules and laws governing our society. I believe were are on the brink of exciting global changes unlike anything we have seen since the last time Pluto was in Capricorn, during the period, 1762 - 1778, the time of the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party! I think were are about to have another mini revolution – which started with the 2008 election!Respect, integrity, dignity, and effective leadership will be making a comeback.

The mass consciousness has shifted and we are now ready to take back our country and bring it back to the foundations and principles of the founding fathers and the original constitution. Pluto in Sagittarius brought about the activation of this global consciousness and now Pluto in Capricorn will bring forth the activation of the new moral and spiritual upliftment of this country and hopefully the salvation of mother earth.
